Xbox Live Gold membership required for the game
The last post on this blog got few interesting comments. The post carried few questions that were asked by the fans of Modern Warfare 2 on Game Informer magazine. The questions were answered by the Editor of the game. Here are few more interesting questions which you all might have asked.
One of the fans of Modern Warfare 2 asked that whether Infinity Ward will make playing multiplayer free. The fan said that he is having an Xbox 360 and but not a Gold membership. So, will he be able to play the game. The Editor replied to this question that Gold membership is necessary to play over Xbox Live as it is with other games. He also said that Infinity Ward has in the past denied about the rumors that there will be additional fees to play Modern Warfare 2.
There was one more interesting question. It was that will the dismemberment be similar to CoD:WaW or not. The reply from the Editor was that similar level of violence is expected to what is present in Infinity Ward’s last game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
One of them even asked whether the MW2 campaign be played with two players. The answer came as NO. The editor said that it is only a single-player game.
Electronic Arts (EA) been throwing punches at Modern Warfare 2 for sometime claiming that the new Battlefield: Bad Company from the DICE studio would have dedicated servers for the PC gamers. It will be valuing the importance of PC gameplay and also customization of it.
Jens Uwe, headmaster of the European division of EA, said in an interview on Friday, “In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty… The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we were the number one. So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context.”
One who has played first Bad Company as well as the Modern Warfare titles may be knowing well that the games are very different in style and also in gunplay. We may also have found out that DICE is on the way of making some changes in it such as making the enemies more easier to kill to fall in line.

disembersment is a WWII thing, now that they use lower calibre bullets in modern warfare, it just as realistic.

oh yeah now i see what your saying. Yeah when you shoot someone with a gun usually they dont’t fall apart but sometimes some nasty chunks come off.
And Snazzypanic is right to, but with the 50cal you can miss someone by like half a foot and the bullet force would still blow off thier arm or atleast blow thier ears out

“Xbox Live Gold Membership required for the game” well duh, of course it is. That’s not news. Infinity Ward doesn’t have the power to make it free, it’s Microsoft’s service. Sucks about the lack of co-op though.

what do you mean? a million head shots?? I’m talking about like with halo 3, my brother and I have live accounts on the same xbox, we can both sign in and both play in a match at the same time with our own accounts. Is cod6 going to support this?
