I stumbled across a pretty cool COD4 custom map server tonight
I usually stick to the stock maps but I was feeling a little bored tonight so I ventured onto this custom server and it wasn’t too bad. It’s almost like a little CSS mixed with a little COD4. The guns had much less recoil and the sniper rifles didn’t have any sway/hold breath which was cool.
As you can see from the video, all guns have skins and red dot laser sight. If it’s night time the RDLS turns into the long green beam like you got in single player mode. I only stayed on for 3 maps, no idea how many they have in rotation. Oh, and the G3 was fully automatic which was really awesome. I’m sure there were other things about some of the guns I didn’t try too but I don’t know for sure. I did check the M16 too in order to check if it was fully automatic but unfortunately, it wasn’t.
The people talking were a tad bit annoying but whatever, who am I to complain? It’s their server and they pay for it so they can saw WTF ever they want to.
If you’re up for a different kind of COD4 experience you may want to check it out some day.
Here’s a little video I made real quick so you can see some of the features.
CoD6 details leaked in a gameplay magazine
Only cuple of days after the 10 seconds gameplay footage of Modern Warfare 2, now there has come up the hard details about the game. The details, though only a small pinch, of this sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been published in one of the leading gaming magazine.

According to the published article, MW2 will be set several years after its predecessor. In this sequel, again the political instability inside a fictional near-future Russia will be threatening the world. The thread will now be in the form of a terrorist organization. One hero, out of two, Sergeant “Soap” MacTavish, has been promoted to captain in the Special Air Services (SAS), Britain’s equivalent of the US Navy SEALs. MacTavisis a part of a new commando unit and will be guiding the players through a series of grueling missions which will even include an ice-climbing infiltration of a frozen Russian army base.
MW2 will be addressing the issue of infinitely spawning enemies. It will also be boasting new “Special Forces” mode that is quite similar to the Mile High Club and the airplane-hijack level. More to this the cooperative campaign is MIA in Modern Warfare 2, which is hoped by many gamers.

Decided to try and learn to use sniper rifle in COD4
So yea, I have been playing COD4 forever and never really got into sniping. Sometimes when I’m really bored and lazy I’ll go camp in a TDM and pick off noobs but it gets boring pretty quick.
I know there is some sort of method to sniping in COD4 where you have to move or jerk right before or after you take your shot, I’m sort of getting the hang of it…I think. I played on a TDM Killhouse map last night and tonight to start off with. I’m thinking if I play on a FFA server it will help me with speed because speed is the key. Anyone can camp and get kills all day but I want to be able to rush with my sniper rifle and actually be deadly with it in S&D matches.
If you want to see some good sniping, go into a promod server and watch some of those guys snipe. Granted some of them are probably hacking, but most of them are legit and very good. I really enjoy watching a really good sniper do their thing.
Here is my video I made last night and tonight, I’ll make another one in a few weeks probably.
Oh BTW, you may see me in game I use the name “Barry” or “b34nz” and usually play in S&D servers.
My xfire is barry4, feel free to add me.
MW2 must have title of the year: Michael Griffith, Activision boss
Many of you wanted the CoD title on MW2. Here is a good news for all the CoD fans. Recently a confirmation had come from Activision that the brand ‘Call of Duty’ is back in the title of CoD 4 sequel, Modern Warfare 2.

Activision boss Michael Griffith announced during the quarterly earnings of Activision call last night that he expects the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 to be the “must-have title of the year.”
Giving a flash back, he said that when the original Modern Warfare was introduced two years before it set a new bar for first person action games. He also mentioned that the catalog sales for Modern Warfare continued to be strong and according to the current data, it has now sold over 13 million units globally.
Till now there has been no details leaked, but expect mags full of new information to land around E3 - where the big reveal will take place.
Meanwhile, there has been a very good response (comments) from all the readers about which weapon to keep in the game and which not in the article Gamers want more of weapons in CoD6
MW2 on Wii. Is it a rumour?
It has been quite common for the Call of Duty games to get being released on Nintendo’s Wii platform. But there an exception for Modern Warfare… and odd exception too. It left something of a hole between Call of Duty 3 and World at War.

Of late It seems that Modern Warfare 2 may continue this trend of Call of Duty on Nintendo Wii. It was announced that the MW2 will only be releasing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games platforms. However, Amazon.co.uk seems show otherwise. It has listed a version of the title for the Wii hardware as well. It may be an interesting news for the fans of MW2.
Of course… but, the reality is as under.
It may be an error on the UK branch of Amazon’s part because they are the only one that seems to show the title, in addition to the fact that they still show the “Call of Duty” name attached, which the sequel has dropped.
Meanwhile it is well known that Activision sometimes tends to release its games on many platforms and as many as there may be the possibilities.
Well! Let us all wait for the release and see where this goes.
Windows 7 and Call of Duty 4 (COD4) not working? I may have found a fix…
So here’s the deal, as many of you know, COD4 and Windows 7 x64 don’t get along very well. More specifically it seems that PunkBuster is the one that’s not playing nice. I’ve tried all the different “fixes” you see online and none of them work.
The error that most of us get is something like “Windows API Error ######”
It’s something to do with punkbuster and Windows 7. PunkBuster has already stated that they have absolutely no plans on fixing the issue until Windows 7 is released to the public. So for all the people who are BETA testing W7 they are basically telling you to go pound sand. The weird thing is WaW works fine, so it’s obviously not a huge deal and would require minimum work on the part of evenbalance to fix the problem.
So, how can you still play COD4 on Windows 7?
I use cracked servers and it works beutifully, the NoBS servers are the ones I use, I listed the one I use the most below. BTW, I have a legit key, in fact I have two legit keys, so don’t accuse me of being a pirate.
If IW makes Evenbalance fix the damn issue for us, then I will happily remove this post. The community has begged and pleaded Evenbalance to help us but they don’t give a damn, so unless IW gives them a push I doubt we will see any help.
In the meantime, here is the server I play on using COD4 AND Windows 7 x64. You can search gametracker for others, this just happens to be my favorite server.

Gamers don’t want Juggernaut
One website yesterday published an article upon what the gamers want in CoD6. There has been a flood of comments and it is still flowing in. Few of the comments are really very rational and we keep the hope that it gives the Infinity Ward people a serious look before the launch of the game this November.

One of the readers wrote, “I would really love to see attachments for my primary weapon, along with silenced sniper rifles! Juggernaut sucks when you play against it, but its still part of the game and gives and extra challenge.”
Also check what one more reader writes about the juggernaut. He writes, “I don’t even use juggernaut; I use stopping power. Although if they do get rid of juggernaut, then I think they need to get rid of stopping power also. These two perks were designed to be in the game together. People that bitch about juggernaut are just babies who need to get better at the game. I hope they don’t get rid of juggernaut and keep stopping power just because a bunch of bitches are complaining about their lack of skill.”
Let us hope for better when the game is launched on the scheduled date i.e. 10th of November.
Gamers want more of weapons in CoD6
There was a survey made by a website asking its readers for comments about what weapons gamers would like to see in CoD6. The website received more than 1,500 comments.

Many readers wrote that they wanted to see more weapon customization and there were also a lot of requests for more of pistols, more of sub machine guns and also more of rifles such as the FAMAS. Many readers also wished to see a perk that may be allowing for 2 attachments for their primary weapons.
Hundreds of readers simply posted endless lists of weapons along with the model numbers of the weapons.
Among the things that most of the gamers would not want in CoD6 is the Silenced snipers and a return for the Juggernaut perk.
The above are just a snippet of the comments of the website. We wish that someone from Infinity Ward stumbles on this and take such requests into consideration. Let us hope that at least few of the rational comments are taken seriously by them.
Halo is dearer than MW2 for gamers
It has been revealed by Gamasutra that Halo 3: ODST as of now is dearer to gamers than Modern Warfare 2. It tops the chart on Xbox 360 game followed by, very closely, Modern Warfare 2. If a close look is given on the data then it is learned that Halo 3: ODST is the game that has been recorded as the highest “intent to purchase.” On the other hand MW2 has the highest pre-order intent according to the research report.

It is not surprising that ODST is a monster franchise, a franchise which is very co-op friendly. Apart from this four of the Halo games, that is 1,2, 3 and Halo Wars, gamers have an insatiable appetite to kick.
From the report it is crystal clear that for somewhat more dedicated audience the figure represents the proportion of planned purchasers who say they will put advance money down.
If the Infinitiy Ward adds a true 4 player co-op mode then it may gear up gamers in putting money down as well.
The third after Halo 3: ODST and MW2 is Madden NFL ’10 with 15% expressing intent on purchasing if compared with close to 25% of Microsoft gamers planning an ODST or MW2 purchase.
This October comes the challenge of Modern Warfare and Battlefield: Bad Company. Medal of Honor of Electronic Arts is being released on October 12 and it will challenge both the games for the top spot in the FPS genre.
Last week at E3 gaming event the stills and multi-player footage were released. The footage bound to bring comparison with the MW2 and BBC2.
The styles of the game is similar to the MW2 and BBC2, but MoH appears to concentrate on points and not focus on kills as MW2 does.
Below is the footage of Medal of Honor:
