No pre-release demo, but more details revealed
It is a bad news that there is no pre-release demo of Modern Warfare 2, but there has been more details revealed through the Twitter page of Infinity Ward about the game.
Below is an extract from the Q & A on the game with Robert Bowling, the creative strategist.
• Bowling said that there will be maximum of seventy levels this time and they are keeping the Prestige icons under lock and key.
• He says variety of gametypes and mission objectives will be included in the Special Ops.
• According to him there are three stars per mission. One star will be given for beating on Regular, two for Hardened, and three for Veteran.
• Few of the maps will be having varying degrees of visibility because of the weather effects.
• In Multiplayer there will be snow maps.
• Taking down an AC-130 in MP requires two rockets says Bowling.
• He adds that Bling is the new perk and it will allow players to put multiple attachments on their weapon.
• Robert Bowling also mentions that when any enemy chopper is in the air then players in the AC-130 can now fire down on top of it and shoot it down.
• No civilians will be there in the Multiplayer. Well, they will add a layer of tactical gameplay in both, the Single Player as well as in Spec Ops missions.
What platform gamer is the best?
As the question implies, this question has raged since the console dared enter the realm of the bandwidth bad ass. Now a multi billion dollar industry, the console has opened a whole new door to the world of gaming to those that can’t afford a video card that costs more than a PS3.
The boys at the On-Live Gaming service, think they have what it takes to make the console and the PC as we know it “Obsolete.” Steve Perlman, former Apple guru and founder of webtv, and MoxiDigital has been operating in stealth mode for the last 7 years developing what he hopes will turn the gaming world on it’s head.
His service promises to allow multi-platform users to game together through the On Live portal. No consoles, no high end PCs your only limited by your ISP’s bandwidth. The service runs all graphics through it’s servers, and there will be no need for a DVD, you pay a certain fee, as yet to be determined.
Just think MW2 warriors, come winter time we may find out just who truly rules the world of gaming.

Co-Op Mission Details and Waves Mode leaked on Twitter
Just a little more of a month is left for the release of Modern Warfare 2. We till now don’t know much about the two player co-op mode of the game called Spec-Ops. Robert Bowling, the Community manager, gives answers to few of such related questions through his Twitter account and there are some more new information being leaked about this mode.
There is some information on the mode’s gameplay length. Rumors prevail that the length should be little longer than the single player. Through Twitter it is learned why. Bowling writes that each Spec Ops mission offers 3 available stars and 1 star for each difficulty level. He further informed that there are total of 69 stars being available that brings the mission count in spec ops to 23 and trying to achieve all the 3 stars on each mission will add to the length.
Bowling also said about the Spec Ops missions are the variety. He writes that there appears to be variety of mission types and objectives, which also includes “waves” mode that we assume to be like Horde and Firefight in terms of gameplay.
We will keep an eye on Twitter for any further details. Till then keep commenting.
Game reviewer of The Sun newspaper shares his playing experience

In LA just over 100 media persons around the world were invited couple of days before by Infinity Ward and Activision to get a sneak peek of Modern Warfare 2.
Here is the thought of Lee Zaleski of The Sun newspaper that was published on their website yesterday.
LZ writes after playing the three maps of the game i.e. Favela, High-rise and Afghan that the game is better than what everybody expected.
He said that the Favela is a shanty town in Brazil having lush green bushes and clear blue sky. The Favela map has alleyways and rooftops that are perfect for close combat ambushes.
About High-rise LZ writes that it is set at dusk. It takes place on top of a skyscraper and it also has a heli pad in the middle. He says that High-rise is extremely fast paced because the teams fight each other from left to right.

According to him the Afghan map is topically set in the Afghanistan desert. It has smoking plane wreck and also some caves in the hills to run amok in. Afghan is a large map and it is perfect for any weapon.
LZ shares that they played two game modes namely Capture the Flag and Demolitions.
About the Demolitions he informs that it is to some extent like Search and Destroy from previous titles. It has two bomb sites and not one.

All Xbox 360 owners treat yourself as Super Elite. Yes, no kidding because Activision has no plans for PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle.
This sad news for PS3 owners comes when Activision rudely replied when asked about the probability of PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle. Activision said, “No, there are no plans, but thank you for asking.”
It very well seems that Xbox 360 always gets cool game-themed redesigns such as Halo 3, Bayonetta, Resident Evil 5. Modern Warfare 2 is an additional one.
At a LA event recently Activision unveiled a 250GB limited edition Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360.
So, no rival for Xbox. Sony would not say anything about this whether they would release a pack of their own.
Is MW2 PS3 coming? Sony keeps silent.

New York Times counts MW2 as important game this fall
New York Times on September 10 carried a special article on video games. The article titled as ‘10 Video Games You Can Count On’ written by renowned columnist Seth Schiesel, counts Modern Warfare 2 as one of the important video games releasing this fall.
He says that in recent years many publishers feel that a big game can succeed only if released after Labor Day. But there is also a problem with this that there are in pipeline many major games to be released within weeks of one another and in such a situation many games sometimes goes unnoticed.
Well, for Modern Warfare 2, Schiesel says that this game will be a successful game. The writes: “Without question the most anticipated title of the fall for core gamers, Modern Warfare 2 is expected to succeed its predecessor as the most sophisticated and intense yet accessible digital rendition of today’s battlefields. Of course it’s still a game, but Modern Warfare 2, set largely in Central Asia, is meant to get players as close to the action as possible without actually strapping on a flak jacket.”
As the date nears for the released of Modern Warfare 2, there will be lots of news and features in newspapers and magazines. Do share if you come across such news.
What are your favorite COD4 multiplayer servers?
If you’re like most people you have a “home” server or a server that you play on regularly. Sometimes it’s because the general skill level of the people who play there is about equal to your skill level, maybe it’s because you like the rules on that server(no marty, no claymores, no bunny hopping, ETC), or maybe it’s some other reason.
I’m always looking for fun servers to play on so I figured why not make a post and ask people to link to their favorite servers. In the comments link to your favorite server(s) and list what kind of server it is too S&D, TDM, HC, SC, and so on.
Personally I like S&D SC servers. Many servers don’t allow Marty or toobs but I don’t really care about that, my main concern are the maps the server has in rotation and if it’s HC or SC, I will not play on HC servers…ever.
I had been playing on eGO’s S&D server but the strict language rules turned me off, the final star came when I got warned for saying “WTF”. I mean we are playing a game where the goal is to KILL people. Even the characters in the game use some foul language yet I’m getting in trouble for saying “WTF”? Lol, no thanks.
I’ve recently been playing on raov server. I like this server because they don’t allow 3 x Frags and since I like to rush a lot this is very benificial for me. Not only that but you can say whatever you want in the server except for racist words. I like all the maps they have in rotation except for one and the people that go on there are usually pretty cool.
Here is the server info for raov:
List your favorite server(s) in the comments! And don’t forget to check back here when the release of MW2 nears as we will have atleast 1 MW2 server.
Electronic Arts (EA) been throwing punches at Modern Warfare 2 for sometime claiming that the new Battlefield: Bad Company from the DICE studio would have dedicated servers for the PC gamers. It will be valuing the importance of PC gameplay and also customization of it.

Jens Uwe, headmaster of the European division of EA, said in an interview on Friday, “In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty… The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we were the number one. So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context.”
One who has played first Bad Company as well as the Modern Warfare titles may be knowing well that the games are very different in style and also in gunplay. We may also have found out that DICE is on the way of making some changes in it such as making the enemies more easier to kill to fall in line.
