After Robert Bowling’s announcement, that MW2 will have no dedicated server support, I have tried to digest the possibilities.

As we know, The merger of Activision and Blizzard has created the largest gaming company on the planet.  The buyout of IW and Treyarch has assured them a winning franchise in the COD series.  World of Warcraft uses the IW.Net servers to run the game and as we know, it makes millions in subscriptions.  I am under the assumption that MW2 will run on these servers as well.  P2P will not work for PC gaming and IW knows this.  IW will be able to control the content of the game as well as any updates that it will of course need.  This will bring more casual players into the fold, as clans believe it or not make up a small minority in the community.

The introduction of Steam into the mix assures the future implementation of a complete down-loadable format.  The future on this is inevitable as companies look to cut manufacturing costs.  Steams “VAC” (Valve Anti-cheat) system is in my opinion more easily implemented as Punkbuster has to many problems with crashing the game and not allowing people to even log into the game.  Will all this flow smoothly on release day?  If you believe that I have some great ocean front property I will sell you in Arizona.  However once the bugs are ironed out, I believe (if implemented properly) can be very good for the PC community.  Just think about global stats and achievements, no PB headaches and no need to update the game yourself.  However, if not set up right, this will be Activision’s biggest blunder yet and stockholders will want some-body’s head.

No delay on PC says Robert Bowling on Twitter. Earlier news was floated that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 may not be released on November 10. Why not? Infinity Ward always kept quiet about the PC version of this game. It always focused on the console versions. Now as the launching date is getting closer here is what Infinity Ward tweets:

“No delay on PC for Modern Warfare 2. You’ll also have Prestige Mode in PC as well as lots of Steam support. Hopefully min specs will be soon”

So…? No more waiting of two weeks, as it was rumored, for the PC version of MW2.

Good News: PC gamers will also be getting the Prestige mode, as it is for the console versions.

Robert Bowling also said, “You’re completely reliant on IWNet and there is no dedicated server or server list. You rely on IWNet for matchmaking and your games, but you still have your private matches.”

As the question implies, this question has raged since the console dared enter the realm of the bandwidth bad ass.  Now a multi billion dollar industry, the console has opened a whole new door to the world of gaming to those that can’t afford a video card that costs more than a PS3.

The boys at the On-Live Gaming service, think they have what it takes to make the console and the PC as we know it “Obsolete.”  Steve Perlman, former Apple guru and founder of webtv, and MoxiDigital has been operating in stealth mode for the last 7 years developing what he hopes will turn the gaming world on it’s head.

His service promises to allow multi-platform users to game together through the On Live portal.  No consoles, no high end PCs your only limited by your ISP’s bandwidth.  The service runs all graphics through it’s servers, and there will be no need for a DVD, you pay a certain fee, as yet to be determined.

Just think MW2 warriors, come winter time we may find out just who truly rules the world of gaming.

A great news comes for all the Call of Duty fans. Modern Warfare 2 will also be available on mobiles. Thanks to Glu Mobile Inc.

Glu Mobile is one of the renowned company in bringing games to mobile. They have announced recently that they have plans for releasing Modern Warfare 2 on mobile too.

The past records of Glu Mobile is highly impressive. They had launched some of the popular games on mobiles. The popular among those are the mischievous Cops and Robbers game for the iPhone. Apart from these they have also released famous titles such Doggie Dash and Brain Genius Deluxe on mobiles.

Glu Mobile Inc is a leading global publisher of mobile games. This initiative with the MW2 is a part of the company’s expanded partnership with Activision Publishing, Inc. They say that this blockbuster title will be in the market in Q4 2009.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is on the way. November 10 is nearing and the trailer of it has created a lot of hype and interest to make us crazy to get our hands on this game. Who does not want to get it as soon as it is launched? At least we at COD 6: MW2 community have gone crazy to preorder a copy of the game.

So here’s the deal, as many of you know, COD4 and Windows 7 x64 don’t get along very well. More specifically it seems that PunkBuster is the one that’s not playing nice. I’ve tried all the different “fixes” you see online and none of them work.

The error that most of us get is something like “Windows API Error ######”

It’s something to do with punkbuster and Windows 7. PunkBuster has already stated that they have absolutely no plans on fixing the issue until Windows 7 is released to the public. So for all the people who are BETA testing W7 they are basically telling you to go pound sand. The weird thing is WaW works fine, so it’s obviously not a huge deal and would require minimum work on the part of evenbalance to fix the problem.

So, how can you still play COD4 on Windows 7?

I use cracked servers and it works beutifully,  the NoBS servers are the ones I use, I listed the one I use the most below. BTW, I have a legit key, in fact I have two legit keys, so don’t accuse me of being a pirate.

If IW makes Evenbalance fix the damn issue for us, then I will happily remove this post. The community has begged and pleaded Evenbalance to help us but they don’t give a damn, so unless IW gives them a push I doubt we will see any help.

In the meantime, here is the server I play on using COD4 AND Windows 7 x64. You can search gametracker for others, this just happens to be my favorite server.

Now, the hard part appears to be finding the name of the dll. The dll is write protected, and is unable to be deleted normally. Try the free version of AGV to tag the DLL. Also check out http://www.symantec.com/…/backdoor.agent.b.html

So I own this site and modernwarfare2.net and I rank VERY well in the search engines for every single search term about modern warfare 2 (modern warfare 2, cod6, cod 6, call of duty 6, etc etc). I also am getting very good traffic and the two sites combines get well over 5,000 uniques per day.

I don’t really have the money to dump into this site to get it fully customized and running like it should. If there is a person or company that would like to have 50% ownership, please contact me.

And before you race to write an email, please don’t contact me if you have nothing to bring to the table. You need either money, programming and graphic skills, or something else that will be able to help these two sites go to the next level. I recently got a comment either here, or maybe it was at cod6.org, and the person was basically saying they should make a perk on Modern Warfare 2 that allows a player to “play dead”.  Now before I go on let me just say I don’t think IW will never make this happen for various reasons. That being said, out of all the ideas for perks that I’ve heard for Modern Warfare 2 that  IW will never implement, this “playing dead” is my second favorite after the “monkey” perk which would allow players to climb trees. Both the “monkey” perk and the playing dead perk are ideas that the community came up with. I actually saw people talking about the playing dead perk while WaW was in development.

I always look at things on how they would effect S&D games because that’s basically the only game mode I play. I think a play dead perk would actually be pretty awesome for S&D. Think about if you were the last player alive on your team and you go to the bomb and play dead with the other dead bodies, when they come to plant or difuse, BAM.

So how do you feel about this perk? How about the tree climbing perk, that would come in really handy for snipers.

Also, before I end this post, I’d love to see more destructable parts of the map like they have in Battlefield Bad Company only minus the tanks. Let’s say you call and air strike on some little house, I feel like the house shouldn’t be able to withstand 3 bombs being dropped on it…it’s just not realistic.
