Mass Effect 2 will be releasing on January 26 by BioWare and Electronic Arts in North America and after just 3 days of its release there, it will be hitting the Europe market on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and on the PC.

The developer and its team points out quickly that the next game in the trilogy will be fixing up all the error that was wrong with the previous release such as the planetary exploration phase and also the inventory.

Now it seems, after watching the creation of such element of the new Mass Effect, that the team has drawn couple of inspirations from Modern Warfare 2, though publisher Activision and Infinity Ward is a rival to them.

Producer of BioWare Adrien Cho told to the media, “Look at Modern Warfare 2 – it looks great on the shooting side. Why not incorporate some of the mechanics of that with the RPG elements of our games?”

Adrien Cho have the believe that the lines that separates at present the videogame genres will be more blurred. He added further, “I see the hybridisation going further. Not just RPG games using features from other genres but the other way round too. So many games now have RPG features such as personalisation, customisation and XP.”

Roughly two months before when this much awaited game of Activision was released, Modern Warfare 2 smashed almost all the sales record in the history of gaming industry. Now, it is arguably regarded as the most popular franchise title around and also considered as a big push through extensive advertisement. In a very short time the game became the king of the holiday season.

In LA just over 100 media persons around the world were invited couple of days before by Infinity Ward and Activision to get a sneak peek of Modern Warfare 2.

LZ writes after playing the three maps of the game i.e. Favela, High-rise and Afghan that the game is better than what everybody expected.

He said that the Favela is a shanty town in Brazil having lush green bushes and clear blue sky. The Favela map has alleyways and rooftops that are perfect for close combat ambushes.

About High-rise LZ writes that it is set at dusk. It takes place on top of a skyscraper and it also has a heli pad in the middle. He says that High-rise is extremely fast paced because the teams fight each other from left to right.

According to him the Afghan map is topically set in the Afghanistan desert. It has smoking plane wreck and also some caves in the hills to run amok in. Afghan is a large map and it is perfect for any weapon.

LZ shares that they played two game modes namely Capture the Flag and Demolitions.

About the Demolitions he informs that it is to some extent like Search and Destroy from previous titles. It has two bomb sites and not one.

All Xbox 360 owners treat yourself as Super Elite. Yes, no kidding because Activision has no plans for PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle.

This sad news for PS3 owners comes when Activision rudely replied when asked about the probability of PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle. Activision said, “No, there are no plans, but thank you for asking.”

At a LA event recently Activision unveiled a 250GB limited edition Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz said that they are very much excited to work for Activision and Infinity Ward in creating branded controllers and accessories for their Modern Warfare series.

He also said that as they continue to grow and diversify then they to become the leading portfolio in the branded videogame industy.

The CEO of Infinity Ward said that the innovation and fresh approach of Mad Catz has been great from the first day itself. He said that Mad Catz has really made poured their hearts into the new line of accessories for MW2.

News comes that Modern Warfare 2 will be coming up with at least two map packs. This has been conveyed recently by the community manager of Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling. He said to the media that Infinity Ward has been planning to give post-launch support to Modern Warfare 2.

Activision is also working hard to create a community around the game. This is just to make the game sustain in the long run. Moreover, the community will help the team to support well the game after it is launched.

Robert Bowling also said that though they have confirmed earlier also in the E3 about the two map packs, so this does not mean that there won’t be more than two map packs.

He also added that they will be shaping the DLC based on the feedback of the community. The feedback will also suggest whether the first two map packs are up to the expectations or not.

If the exchange rates of Euro and pound are distancing themselves then it does not mean that the retail price of Modern Warfare 2 should pinch the fans. But, sad to say, this has happened.

Modern Warfare 2 is costing £54.99, which is five pounds more than most new video game releases.

Activision has done this and it is sure that other publishers are also going to follow the increased price tag.

Only to defend themselves the publishers are singing the song of exchange rates in the UK market. They are also defending themselves by saying that the development costs for next gen software is regularly rising more than their expectations.

Well, whatever be the genuine reason of this increased price, one thing is for sure that fans of MW2 will never consider that Activision is justified in setting its own higher prices.

Modern Warfare 2 publisher is pressing the advertising agency TBWA to ensure that its launch should be the biggest in the recent gaming history.

Sources say that Activision has a firm believe that the ad campaign of the advertising agency, TBWA, which has been planned, is on right track to realizing its lofty goals of smashing all records that has been set by big games with big names like the Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Activision CEO, Brad Jakeman, recently said, “The strategic objective is not to just run advertising on day one and say ‘Go to a retailer and buy the game,’ but it is to really start building a movement and start broadening the audience for [Modern Warfare 2] beyond a core gamer audience.”

Mike Hickey of Janco Partners’ also earlier gave an indication that Activision should not worry about the game because it is surely going to hit 11 million units in under two months only. Hickey also said then that Modern Warfare 2 could potentially sell through 7.8 million units globally with an estimated retail value of more than $569 million in the first week.
