Amazon cuts down the price of Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 2 is now available on Amazon.com at a discount price. This week retailer Amazon have cut down the price of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for Sony’s PS3, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and also for the PC to under $50 in a new sale.
On last Wednesday MW2 PS3 SKU held a sale price of $45.79. This was 17 per cent off the MSRP of $59.99.
Apart from this, the game for Xbox 360 SKU was also discounted to $45.79.
Not only this, retailer Amazon.com is also concurrently holding a Video Games Accessories Sale and those are available by up to 25 per cent.
In the November month the US sales of Modern Warfare 2 was 6 million units.
The game is also sold in a stand-alone SKU at $59.99. More to this, the Hardened Edition is sold at $79.99.
In the month of September Microsoft. announced the new Xbox 360 250GB Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition SKU.
No plans for PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle says Activision
All Xbox 360 owners treat yourself as Super Elite. Yes, no kidding because Activision has no plans for PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle.
This sad news for PS3 owners comes when Activision rudely replied when asked about the probability of PS3 Modern Warfare 2 bundle. Activision said, “No, there are no plans, but thank you for asking.”
It very well seems that Xbox 360 always gets cool game-themed redesigns such as Halo 3, Bayonetta, Resident Evil 5. Modern Warfare 2 is an additional one.
At a LA event recently Activision unveiled a 250GB limited edition Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360.
So, no rival for Xbox. Sony would not say anything about this whether they would release a pack of their own.
Full length of accessories will be released by Mad Catz
Mad Catz is launching on the release date of Modern Warfare 2 a full range of licensed accessories for Modern Warfare 2. Darren Richardson, the President and CEO of Mad Catz says that these accessories will be released for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 version and also for the PC. It is expected that these accessories will be shipped across North America and the key European territories by November 10.

PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition is sold out on Amazon
There is a piece of good news about Modern Warfare 2, which is not exactly a good news for fans and gamers of this game. The news is that the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition is out of stock on Amazon. This means that fans and gamers are too much excited about the game. This is something good. The bad part is that your $149.99 will not be able to buy this PS3 version of the prestige edition of the game.
Well, there is a bit of hope among the fans. The Xbox 360 version is still available on Amazon.com. Hurry up! Otherwise it may get exhausted too. At least you can buy as an alternative version of the PS3, though not the superior alternative.

Advanced sales tops second on Amazon
The Prestige Edition of the much awaited game Modern Warfare 2 has been now tagged a price of $149.99. The advanced orders of the game on retailer Amazon.com has heated up. This weeks chart of Amazon shows that on Xbox 360 the game has ranked as second best selling. There has been a sales increase of 750 on the Xbox 360 SKU.
Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition PS3 version on Amazon has a 264 percent of sales increase. It has been ranked twelfth on its chart.
As it has been reported earlier, there will be a goggle in the box of MW2 apart from the game, Call of Duty Classic full downloadable game, Hardbound art book “Behind the Lines”, and special edition Steelbook case with custom artwork.
The goggle will allow a night vision sight in complete darkness up to 50 feet. The vision can be in black and white or night vision green.
Xbox Live Gold membership required for the game
The last post on this blog got few interesting comments. The post carried few questions that were asked by the fans of Modern Warfare 2 on Game Informer magazine. The questions were answered by the Editor of the game. Here are few more interesting questions which you all might have asked.
One of the fans of Modern Warfare 2 asked that whether Infinity Ward will make playing multiplayer free. The fan said that he is having an Xbox 360 and but not a Gold membership. So, will he be able to play the game. The Editor replied to this question that Gold membership is necessary to play over Xbox Live as it is with other games. He also said that Infinity Ward has in the past denied about the rumors that there will be additional fees to play Modern Warfare 2.
There was one more interesting question. It was that will the dismemberment be similar to CoD:WaW or not. The reply from the Editor was that similar level of violence is expected to what is present in Infinity Ward’s last game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
One of them even asked whether the MW2 campaign be played with two players. The answer came as NO. The editor said that it is only a single-player game.
MW2 will be a big hit as the other CoD series
It is an open fact that the biggest title in 2007 as well as in 2008 were Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War respectively. This is also evident because till today both the games are played too much, especially the 2007 hit CoD4: Modern Warfare.
It is also expected same or even more from the Modern Warfare 2 that is going to be unveiled on November 10 this year. The CEO of Activision Publishing earlier said to the media that they are expecting this much awaited series of the Call of Duty to be a big hit and in fact the biggest title in the videogame industry.
He also said that when the original MW was launched in the year 2007 then it had a substantial jump in consumers engaged in the CoD franchise. He explains further that Modern Warfare 2 will be having a ready purchasers.
He adds, “We also look at Modern Warfare 2 and where it’s strongest on the next-gen platforms of PS3 and Xbox 360. The installed base from the first Modern Warfare to the second one will be nearly double.”
CoD6 ranks second on Xbox most wanted
Modern Warfare 2 or else CoD6 is the second most wanted on the Xbox 360. This is revealed from the data of GamePlan, a research group. The data shows that Halo 3: ODST is the most wanted Xbox 360 title. Modern Warfare 2 is followed.
ODST and the MW2 are the sequels in famed franchises, but not like others on the list represent nearly a quarter of all Xbox 360 gamers. Isn’t it impressive.
Next after CoD6 in the race is Madden NFL ’10. It has only 15% expressing intent on purchasing if compared with close to 25% of Microsoft gamers planning an ODST or MW2 purchase.
It is a bit interesting that MW2’s intent to purchase and pre-order tallies are nearly even in comparison to a much wider discrepancy among future ODST gamers. Why it is so?
The answer to this question may be that the fans of Halo are lazy bums who know ODST would not be in short supply come fall and if not then else they are waiting for further more juicy details of the game from the secretive Bungie Studios about the title before deciding if the investment is completely worth it.
Electronic Arts (EA) been throwing punches at Modern Warfare 2 for sometime claiming that the new Battlefield: Bad Company from the DICE studio would have dedicated servers for the PC gamers. It will be valuing the importance of PC gameplay and also customization of it.
Jens Uwe, headmaster of the European division of EA, said in an interview on Friday, “In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty… The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we were the number one. So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context.”
One who has played first Bad Company as well as the Modern Warfare titles may be knowing well that the games are very different in style and also in gunplay. We may also have found out that DICE is on the way of making some changes in it such as making the enemies more easier to kill to fall in line.
